ELECTRO CHLORINATOR
Electro Chlorinator is a unit process. It is used in water treatment. Electrochlorination is the process of producing hypochlorite by passing electric current through salt water. This disinfects the water and makes it safe for human use, such as for drinking water or swimming pools.
Process Description :-
Electro Chlorination is electrolysis of saltwater to produce chlorinated solution. The First Step is removing any solid from saltwater. Next, the saltwater Streams through an electrolyzer cells channel of decreasing thickness. One side of the channel is a cathode, the other is an anode. A Low voltage DC current is applied , electrolysis happens producing sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen gas. The solution travels to a tank that seprate hydrogen gas based on its low density. Only water and ordinary salt are used .
The reaction is: NaCl + H2O + ENERGY → NaOCl + H2
Energy is added to sodium chloride in water, Producing sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen gas.
Target Impurities :-
- Micro organism
Advantages :-
- Low Operating Costs
- On Demand Sodium Hypochlorite productions
- No Handling or transportation of hazardous materials
- Easy Transportation
