Coarse Screen, Micro Screen & fine Screen
Coarse Screen, Micro Screen & fine Screen is an unit operation for treatment of WTP/WWTP. Screens are generally used for Screening, the first Unit Operation of any Waste Water Treatment Plant. A Screen is a device with openings, generally of uniform size, that is used to retain solids found in the influent wastewater to the treatment plant or in combined wastewater collection system.
Process Description :-
Coarse Screen : A screen composed of parallel bars or rods is often called a “bar rack” or a coarse screen. they have clear openings ranging from 6 to 150 mm. It is used for removal of coarse solids such as sticks, rags and other debris in untreated wastewater by interception (surface straining).
Fine Screen : Fine screen is devices consisting of perforated plates, wedgewire elements, and wire cloth that have smaller openings. they have clear openings less than 6 mm. They are used principally in removing fine solids and small particles.
Target Impurities :-
- Sticks, rags & debris, fine solids, small particles, floatable matter and algae.
Advantages :-
- Removal of coarse material from the flow stream could prevent subsequent process equipment from any damage.
- By removing coarse & fine solids could increase overall treatment process reliability and effectiveness.
